Little Emily Guymer phoned for an ambulance after she found her mum unconscious at the bottom of the stairs in their family home.

Emily did really well to listen to the call taker's instructions which enabled her mummy to receive the medical help she desperately needed.

This brave young girl has since been given a Laverick Award for her bravery.

The Laverick Award, which recognises children and young adults who have gone above and beyond to help another, is in memory of Nick Laverick – a paramedic team leader who died of cancer on his birthday in September 2013.

Well done Emily! Everyone is really proud.
