(HD) Inside Amtrak Chicago Coach Yard..Up Close

From Track 11 in the Amtrak Chicago Coach Yard, there was plenty of action. GE P32-8WH's are the switcher force for Amtrak. We see units 500, 506, 508 and 518. These units, built in 1991 are serving out their final years as Chicago switchers and regional road power. We see some long distance switching with P42DC's
The location is the southeast side of the yard, south of Roosevelt Road and east of the Amtrak office building with the tall control tower on top. I was a guest on the Lamberts Point 100 year old Heavyweight Observation Private Car that was tacked on the Amtrak #7, the westbound Empire Builder that was being serviced on Track 11 and gave me a great vantage point.
