Problem: You want to wear a GoPro camera on your head, but you don't want the goofy looking head strap. Also, you have a hat you like wearing while using your GoPro.

Solution: The ActionHat insert!

Why is this on an RC car channel? Because recording RC car footage with a head mount is common (and a great way to get that video).

This video is a combo review of the ActionHat, ActionHat Insert, and the Boston Scally Blacktop Collection...along with a how to on installing the insert into a Boston Scally Cap. You also will see some footage recorded at the MHOR R/C Raceway using the ActionHat mount.

Warning: I am SLOOOOOOOOOOW. So, even speeding up parts, it's a long video (although you don't have to watch it all to get the gist of it). So, if you find slow hair reducing, please consider watching a Van Halen music video instead. :-)

Pointers:

Measure twice, cut once
Cut the holes, and then poke, poke, poke the screws through
Keep track of horizontal alignment
The ActionHat has a patented floating mount, please be sure to follow their advice and test it before depending on it
Make sure you install it so that the GoPro thumbscrew won't block the GoPro camera battery door
It will not feel as secure as a GoPro head strap mount, but it is pretty darn secure (the foam in the insert helps a ton)
