HOW TO | BCDC CORE BATTERY BOX INSTALL

This video demonstrates how to install a REDARC BCDC Core 25 battery charger with a lithium battery into a battery box. It provides a step-by-step guide covering the mounting of the BCDC, wiring connections, and terminating the Anderson plugs.

The BCDC Core (a DC-to-DC battery charger) should be positioned for easy access to inputs and outputs, including USB ports, accessory outputs, and an Anderson plug for solar input. Start by marking the areas requiring drilling for component placement. Drill the holes and securely mount the BCDC to the top of the battery box.

Next, connect the wiring following the detailed instructions provided. Install the mini fuse holder for the output fuse as close to the positive battery terminal as possible. Finally, mount the Anderson plug at the back of the box to serve as the vehicle power input.

What does each wire do?

Brown wire - auxiliary output, runs into the fuse and terminates at the battery.
Red wire - vehicle input wire, runs inside the battery box and terminates at the input Anderson plug.
Black wire - Vehicle Chassis Connection: Ensure it connects to the negative terminal of the input Anderson plug.
Yellow wire - solar input, connects to positive of Anderson plug at the front of the battery box.
Blue wire - smart alternator ignition switch trigger.
Green wire - external status LED (this one is optional).
Orange wire - Charge profile selection wire, this can be left disconnected, connected to ground or to the positive terminal, depending on the voltage output you need from the BCDC Core charger. Follow the user manual to check the correct outcome for your setup.

Once the wiring is complete and each wire safely terminated, it's time to add the battery, close the box and check that everything is working properly. Check that the lights come on to indicate the battery charger is working and you're good to go!
