Описание к видео Survivors and family react to Bataclan attack verdict

(29 Jun 2022)
RESTRICTION SUMMARY:
ASSOCIATED PRESS
Paris - 29 June 2022
1. Various of people leaving courtroom
2. People in tribunal outside courtroom
3. SOUNDBITE (French) Bruno Poncet, Bataclan survivor:
"With such a trial and such verdicts, I would say what we've gained is experience, we managed to hold a trial in less than seven years, which is not bad. I just wrote a book called 'Joy as Vengeance' because I am totally not in a spirit of revenge. Whatever we do, it will never bring back those who died so let's let the justice do its work we just need to live up to the moment."
4. Various of people in tribunal, lawyers and plaintiffs being interviewed
5. SOUNDBITE (French) Xavier Nogueras, lawyer for defendant Mohammed Amri:
"Overall we are satisfied because he can be freed in ten days technically. We are also satisfied because the sentences have been individualized and are inferior to what the prosecutor requested, they took into account personalities and postures of the accused. On the other hand, on the application of law regarding criminal conspiracy, we are disappointed because we arrive to a point where the intention is not even proven."
6. Setup of Bilal Mokono, wounded survivor of attack outside Stade de France
7. SOUNDBITE (French) Bilal Mokono, wounded survivor of attack outside Stade de France:
"I am a victim of the attacks of November 13th in the Stade de France, I was wounded next to my son who was 13 years old at the time and I had a cousin Ludovic (Boumbas) who died on a terrace, helping and protecting his friends with whom he was having drinks for a birthday. They have tried to attack our democracy but they didn't succeed, they made us stronger, more solid."
8. People outside courtroom
9. SOUNDBITE (English) George Salines, father of 28-year-old Lola who died in attack on the Bataclan:
"At the end, he (Salah Abdeslam) asked for pardon and he cried also and I don't think it's possible to give him, to pardon him. It's not possible because he doesn't have...I consider that he didn't express any real remorse and this is a condition for pardon, but yes something has shifted in his brain, I think."
10. Sign outside courtroom
11. SOUNDBITE (English) George Salines, father of 28-year-old Lola who died in attack on the Bataclan:
"I don't like the idea of in advance deciding that there is no hope, I think it is important to keep the hope for any man."
12. People outside courtroom
13. SOUNDBITE (French) Olivier Fisher, survivor of the attack on the Carillon Bar:
"It's an extremely clear message that was sent to people who are tempted by radical Islamism since, when they get involved to some extent, they end up either locked up for life or facing sentences that correspond to their involvement in these kind of events."
14. Police officers
15. Various of lawyer speaking
16. Various of people who had attended or covered the verdict speaking to one another on the steps of the courthouse

STORYLINE:
The lone survivor of a team of Islamic State extremists who terrorized Paris in 2015 was convicted Wednesday of murder and other charges and sentenced to life in prison without parole for the deadliest peacetime attacks in French history.
The special terrorism court also convicted 19 other men involved in the assault on the Bataclan concert hall, cafes and the national stadium, which killed 130 people and injured hundreds, some permanently maimed.
The attacks led to intensified French military action against extremists abroad and a lasting shift in France's security posture at home.
Neither he nor his lawyer spoke publicly after the verdict.
