If you are looking to prepare a fish appetizer during Durga puja then try making this easy yet delicious Bhetki fish fry. So today I will share with you the actual recipe for making crispy fish cutlet which you will really love to eat.

ingredients:
• Bhetki fish fillet: 650 gms
• Vinegar: 1tsp
• Salt: 1 tsp
• Ginger: 1 inch piece
• Onion: 1
• Green chilli: 3-4
• Garlic cloves: 7 -8
• Breadcrumbs: 1 cup
• Egg: 1
• Oil for frying
• Kashundi (mustard sauce) - as required

How to prepare:
• I have taken here 650 gms of Bhetki fish and I cut it into square like pieces. Since this fish has very less bones and is a soft meat, children prefer to have it without any complains.
• Add 1 tsp of vinegar and ½ tsp salt and rub it on all the sides of the fish and keep for 10 mins. This will help to remove the smell and also make the fish meat soft.
• Now for the marinade, I have taken 1 inch ginger piece, 1 onion, some green chillies, you can add more if needed, and 7-8 cloves of garlic. Grind it into paste.
• Now I will take the fish pieces and gently squeeze the water out of them and smear the marinate uniformly over the fillet.
• Turn the fillet and coat the other side as well. Keep it for 30 minutes in the refrigerator so that the flavours are absorbed well.
• After 30 minutes take one egg, whisk it and add a pinch of salt to it. Keep aside.
• Now take 1 cup of bread crumbs and add ½ tsp of salt to it and mix well.
• Now take a fillet with the coating of the marinade and dip it in the egg wash using a spoon.
• Next place the egg coated fillet on the breadcrumb and cover it with crumbs from all sides and give it a clean straight edges and corners.
• Press it gently to flatten it and place it in a new plate. Make the rest similarly and then keep it in the fridge for 15 mins.
• After 15 mins heat oil in a kadhai until quite hot.
• Take a piece of cutlet and gently place it in the oil without spilling oil on you. Fry on medium high heat until golden brown from all the sides.
• Once it is done remove it and fry the rest fillets.
• Your bhekti fish fry is ready. Serve it with sliced onions and Kashundi (Bengali mustard sauce) and enjoy your evening with a hot cup of tea.
