To provide the best surgical care possible and to meet the expectations of patients and healthcare professionals, the WNH Board of Trustees approved nearly $1 million in medical equipment purchases and facility enhancements for the WNH Surgical Center. With another $500,000 in anticipated expense related physician recruitment. The project began in January 2014 and was completed in stages to allow surgical care to continue, except for one week of closure.

The expense associated with making these upgrades to the WNH Surgical Center is high. While hospital reserves have funded a portion of the project, philanthropic gifts are paramount to realizing our goals. The William Newton Healthcare Foundation has received pledges and gifts of nearly $145,000 towards the project to date.

In this rapidly changing and competitive environment, WNH can continue to stand out as a leader with the support of all stakeholders. The improvements to the WNH Surgical Center will help keep healthcare at home, while moving the organization to a higher level of excellence. We thank you for your continued support.

In late February 2014 the William Newton Hospital Board of Trustees, William Newton Healthcare Foundation Board of Directors and Snyder Medical Foundation members toured progress of the WNH Surgical Center renovation. Construction was completed in April.
