After a promising demo and a single that hinted at their potential, the Muscovite quintet Zverzost now unveils their debut album, “Мракоуст” where it demonstrates their evolution into a more intricate and cohesive black metal force.

This album sheds the punk tinged traits that characterized their demo, opting instead for a darker and more meticulously crafted black metal sound. While death metal elements subtly emerge in the mix, they serve to accentuate rather than redefine the band's blackened core. The overall tone remains firmly rooted in the genre’s traditions, offering an unrelenting intensity paired with thoughtful compositional layers.

Zverzost does not try to reinvent black metal, instead it performs with conviction and precision, where each riff, blast beat, and snarled vocalization with an assertiveness which underscores their commitment to the genre’s ethos.

Atmosphere plays a crucial role in the album’s impact as the tracklist unfolds with a narrative-like quality, evoking a spectrum of emotions that range from oppressive bleakness to moments of near-spiritual transcendence.
