The HRDC has issued a code blue warning starting Friday at 8 a.m. through Tuesday at 8 a.m. for its warming shelters in Bozeman and Livingston.

A code blue designation goes into effect anytime the high for the day is forecasted to be in the single digits or lower, allowing the warming shelter to remain open 24/7.

During the winter months, and especially during periods of extreme cold, the HRDC sees an increase in the number of people seeking a safe place to stay; and that number of people seeking assistance is on the rise.
