In This Video Akshat Gupta Talk About Dhrupad aur Dronacharya Riverly In the Mahabharata, a king named Prishat was a friend of Bharadwaj Muni. His son's name was Drupada. He used to stay in Bharadwaj Ashram and receive education from Dronacharya. At that time Drona and Drupada were good friends. One day Drupada told Dronacharya that when I become the king, you should stay with me. You will have equal rights over my kingdom, property and happiness as I do.

When King Prishat died, Drupada became the king of Panchal country. On the other hand, Dronacharya started doing penance by staying in his father's ashram. He was married to Kripacharya's sister Kripi. From Kripi he gave birth to Ashwatthama. One day, seeing other sages, Ashwatthama also started crying for milk, but due to lack of cow, Dronacharya could not arrange milk for him. This made him very sad.
When Dronacharya came to know that his friend Drupada had become the king, he went to meet him keeping in mind the promise made to him in childhood. Going there, Dronacharya told Drupada that I am your childhood friend. Hearing this from Dronacharya, King Drupada insulted him and said that a king and an ordinary Brahmin can never be friends. A king cannot be friends with the poor?
Dronacharya did not like this statement of Drupada and he came to Hastinapur thinking of somehow taking revenge of his insult from Drupada. After coming here, he stayed secretly in Kripacharya's house for a few days.
One day Yudhishthir and the prince were playing with the ball in a field. Then the ball fell into a deep well. The princes tried hard to take out that ball, but it did not come out. Dronacharya was watching the princes trying unsuccessfully to retrieve the ball. He told the princes that I will remove this ball of yours, you arrange food for me.
Dronacharya took out the ball from the well with the help of blessed straws. When the princes saw this, they were very surprised. He went and told this to grandfather Bhishma. After knowing everything, Bhishma understood that he was definitely Dronacharya. Bhishma respectfully brought Dronacharya to Hastinapur and entrusted him with the responsibility of teaching the weapons of Kauravas and Pandavas.
When the education of Kauravas and Pandavas was completed, Dronacharya said to them - You take Drupada, the king of Panchal country, as a captive and bring him to me. This is my Gurudakshina. First the Kauravas tried to attack King Drupada and capture him, but they could not succeed. Later, due to the bravery of Arjun, Pandavas captured King Drupada and brought him to Guru Dronacharya. Then Dronacharya returned half the kingdom to him and kept the other half for himself. In this way King Drupada and Dronacharya became equal.
