A TRIO OF ANCIENT FINDS /// Miss Detectorist is back on form! U.K. metal detecting Roman artefacts

⚠️ A trio of ancient finds?! What does it feel like to unearth a Roman coin? Happy days are here again. After a metal detecting ‘finds drought' it feels extra sweet to find three Roman artefacts - especially in a British area fairly little-frequented by our Roman friends.

Since I started as a beginner detectorist on this, my very first, UK permission, I’ve found some really cool historical objects. Medieval hammered coins, a jetton and a pot leg, bronze buckles and ring loops, and post medieval objects too. Roman was always top of my wishlist though - and after almost a year of hard work on this site I have hit upon an area that is producing the occasional 2000 year old artefact. Three artefacts in 2 days though IS a bit of a treat!

My usual mix of history, nature, outdoors and searching. 😊 Plus, I test out a low-cost (but as it turns out highly effective) homemade surveying method using cheap plastic picnic bowls from Tesco - total investment £2.
