Vintage Fountain Pen: The 70-year-old Pelikan 140

I was not supposed to fall down this particular part of the rabbit hole, but the call of history and the idea that someone else used to have these in their hands – writing something that meant something to them – was just too romantic for me, so I dipped my toes. I say dipped because I know that there are more serious pen collectors out there that have super historical pens in their collections, and mine looks – well, like the beginner collection that it is.

Three months into fountain pen collecting and I have four vintage pens – though I use the term “vintage” loosely for two of them. This one, though, is truly vintage as it comes from the 1950s and is still an excellent instrument to write with.
