In today’s episode of Figuring Out, Raj Shamani is in conversation with Harsh Mariwala! Harsh is the founder and Chairman of Marico, a Fortune India 500 company. He is an investor, an entrepreneur, and is actually the Oil King of India.

He transformed his family business of spices and edible oils into a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) giant, which manufactures and distributes in 25 countries across Asia and Africa.

This man has built brands that are used as synonyms for the entire category such as Parachute oil, Saffola, etc. He is also an active investor.

He received the 2009 Ernst & Young ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award in the Manufacturing category; the 2009 ‘Talent Management Award’ at the CNBC India Business Leader Awards; the NDTV Profit ‘Best Business Leadership’ Award in the FMCG category, in 2007 and 2009; the Asia Pacific HRM Congress ‘CEO with HR Orientation – Global Excellence HR Award’ in 2007; and the ‘Teacher’s Achievement Award in Business’ in 2006.
