In the archives of Motown’s brief and curious expansion into the "Northern Soul" circuit of New England, few tracks carry as much bittersweet weight as "The Golden Mile." Recorded in 1966, this track remains a cult favorite among Framingham locals and vinyl collectors alike.

The Backstory
The song was written by the songwriting duo Holloway & Reed after a broken-down tour bus left them stranded at a beautiful restaurant on Route 9. Inspired by the neon lights and the high-end shopping at Shoppers’ World, they wrote this legendary track.
