A rare sky event is coming! On the night of October 9–10, 2025, the moon will pass directly in front of the Pleiades star cluster — also known as the Seven Sisters–as seen from much of the U.S. and Canada. In this stream, we’ll show you when and where to look, what to expect through binoculars or a telescope, and explain why these lunar occultations happen in series. Starts before midnight CDT on October 9 in central U.S. locations. EarthSky's Deborah Byrd and Marcy Curran will host. The video drops at noon central (17 UTC) on Monday, October 6.
