Sydney is currently experiencing one of the most severe housing shortages anywhere in the world - so the city is looking for any opportunity it can get to boost its housing supply.

Unfortunately, a lot of this has been happening in areas on the suburban fringe that are ages away from the city and lack good infrastructure - but a new set of plans could see this change.

Woollahra train station, on Sydney's T4 Eastern Suburbs railway line, has been left abandoned for decades, but now the NSW government wants to reopen it (and rezone the land around it) to alloq for the construction of up to 10,000 new homes!

So, in this video, we'll look back at the history of the station to see why it was built and then never opened. We'll also look at why theres talk of bringing it back now - and what this could mean for housing in Sydney.
