#12YearsOfViratKohli 18th August. On this day, 12 years ago, a chubby teenager entered the world of international cricket on the land of Sri Lanka. Little did we know that one day he will surpass every other guy in the sport to become the no.1 batsman in the world. He had his setbacks. He made mistakes. He did lose his way and mind at a point. But in spite of having faced worst of failures, he stood up again to fight. He didn't wait for opportunities; he improvised his quality of life and opportunities ran behind him. Be it IPL or international cricket, his primary goal was to WIN. To win for his team.



Virat hates losing. He walks onto the field only and only to give his 120%. He has sacrificed things which he couldn't live without. From chhole bhature to butter chicken to chocolates. He went out to play Ranji Trophy match on the day his father died.



It's not only his skill and dedication that make him the "BEST" but also his compassion and sportsmanship spirit. He is competitive and aggressive on the field, yes. But with that, he is also the most kindhearted and loving soul you can possibly ever find, off the field. He has excelled every area of life - be it professional success or the art of being human.



With the increasing fame and hype, he also used his name for noble causes like animal and child welfare. His Virat Kohli Foundation gives support to the rising sports talent in India. He has a pavilion stand named after him. He has everything one can ever dream of, but I dare say, he has not the slightest ego to create room for vanity. He is grateful to the smallest of joys in life, he has faith in the universe and a firm belief in himself that has brought him to the invincible top.



A very natural attraction is his contagious smile. It radiates happiness to everyone witnessing it. He is drop-dead handsome, enough to make everyone fall in love with him. But what makes me "stay in love" with him is the beautiful mind behind that face. A pure heart that still enjoys life like a little kid from Delhi.



When it comes to appreciating him, I fail miserably. It is difficult to sum up all his glory. All I know is, if there's something that can make me completely, perfectly, incandescently happy, it has to be Virat Kohli any given day.
