Abbey + Dean planned something really special the week before their full wedding celebration - a small, meaningful elopement in Muskoka. They spent the weekend at a cottage with family, and I joined them to capture the elopement day.

The morning started slow at the cottage before we headed into Algonquin. Big shoutout to their photographer, Evelyn Barkey, who came up with the idea to canoe to a small island where Abbey + Dean helped each other get ready and read their vows. The rain poured down as we set off, but by the time we reached the island it cleared into the perfect backdrop for such an intimate moment.

Afterwards, we paddled back to the cottage for a private dinner and cake at sunset, finishing the night with a swim where a snapping turtle swam right up to them.

A day full of adventure, emotion, and meaning—and such an honor to tell their story through film.
