Tears For Fears - Shout (Leppardized Guitar Cover)

Описание к видео Tears For Fears - Shout (Leppardized Guitar Cover)

Just going to come out and say it...the greatest use of natural harmonics in a 'pop' song in the last chorus! Always thought they sound amazing here and they are specifically the reason why this cover needs to be played in D standard (which is why I'm using my Hohner). That aside, this is another great track from Roland and Curt, and I think what I appreciate more as I get older, is the use of percussion and sound design to give this track such a great atmosphere. It's quite a sparse song, and very long, but these elements keep your ear interested, and the bridge section, opening with the bass, is such a quality payoff too. Then there's the incredible solo which is quite simplistic yet very intricate in it's note selection I feel. Exactly the solo it needs to be!

In terms of the Leppardization, I didn't add too much, just played over the synth parts in places.

'Leppardized' is my way of adding interesting guitar parts to a song that has little to no guitar in it, in an attempt to make it more like the Hysteria era of Def Leppard. Although really it is just an excuse for me to play over pop. :)

I use a Hohner (basically a Euro Steinberger) tuned to D standard, into a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09 into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X.

My headphones are purposely like that so the cable stays out the way.

I have a Patreon where I upload my notation notes for all my new covers and I am going through my old ones too. But I also provide custom notation and video lessons content there or at my [email protected] address. Please get in touch if you want help playing the music you love.   / bwm5150
