16th Century expedition ship

When I found the White Swan lying alongside in Harlingen in the Netherlands I fell to thinking about how the men who sailed such ships to the Arctic could possibly have managed. This led to some consideration of her gear and how it worked. It all makes you marvel at the remarkable sailing craft we operate today and how we might have shaped up knowing only what they knew and with only their tools.
