Sidchip Mixtape 12 Chris Hülsbeck [C64 Music]

This time, we are proud to present a 50-minute mixtape of the amazing German SID composer Chris Hülsbeck, featuring top-class tunes on the Commodore 64, including many cool tunes. Many people don't know the fact that Chris also developed the Soundmonitor program, one of the early C64 music editors that was shown on the C64 in 1986. SoundMonitor was a very popular free entry point for many C64 composers. It was originally written by Chris Hülsbeck as a type-in listing for the German magazine 64'er. Chris first wrote the music player Music Master and won a music competition in that magazine with the tune Shades. He then decided to code this editor around the player. Not to forget, Chris did top-notch music on the Amiga, like Turrican 1+2+3 tunes, which for many Amiga gamers are considered the greatest soundtrack of the Amiga back in the 90s. He is definitely a phenomenal composer who still creates real music up to this day. We enjoyed making this tribute to his fans and, of course, for him to appreciate his amazing technical skills and melodic vision that entertain us then and now. We hope you like this mixtape as much as we enjoyed making it. The music is recorded with Jsidplayer 2.4.7 because the sounds are from 1987-1988. Most of the music is with type 6581 "R2" type, but some of them used "R3" for better quality and less "mud" in the low end and slight changes in the filters. Needless to say, a lot of other great tunes are not included in this compilation due to self-explanatory reasons, and I have chosen his top best, which I think are really amazing. The tunes filled awesome games like Katakis, R-Type, Giana Sisters, Hollywood Poker Pro, Gem-x, Starball.
