Many 'Tesla Killers' have come and gone, but the Elon Musk-captained brand has stayed at the forefront of EV technology and sales - until now. Buoyed by its success in China, BYD has entered the world of premium EVs with its guns blazing, making it well poised to take on the rest of the world...

...and it might just manage to top it.

BYD aka Build Your Dreams (yeah, we know) is tackling the European market with the Seal. On paper, it looks like it has crosshairs on Tesla's hot-selling Model 3, with very comparable specs and competitive pricing. But you might not have known that BYD has had a strong presence in the UK for quite some time and it's not the only Chinese car manufacturer to do so. London's electric busses are made by BYD and LEVC black cabs are made by Geely, so the Chinese automakers are no stranger to the UK market.
