BONNY AT MORN, (Northumberland)

I love this tune and while I have played it many times, I have never been happy with the result. I decided that, as is often the case with slow, melodic tunes, the diatonic accordion is not ideally suited because of the need to reverse the bellows at times and the tiny 'hiccup' that produces. It spoils the flow of the music, to my ears. These kinds of tunes are better suited to the violin, if I am being honest. But, determined to get a version that was as good as I think I can get it, I rewrote several bars of the music in order to avoid those bellows reversals, while, I hope, at the same time keeping the integrity of the piece. I feel that I have done that and I am happy with the result......until I get another idea !
