Jim Hagerman has always been his own man in the world of pedal design - and today's offering is probably the best example yet of him taking a concept and really putting his own unique stamp on it.

Enter the TUBEKLØN - yes folks, Jim has put a tube into a Klon!!

Long gone are the 'mythical' Germanium diodes; the clean boost mode; and the rudimentary Low Pass Filter. All of the clipping here is being done by a vacuum tube; you get a 'proper' tone control; the internal charge pump (like the original circuit) ensures a good amount of level & headroom; and - most impurely - it's bright orange! All whilst retaining the same tonal characteristics that have caused people to lose their minds over those giant Gold and Silver horsie boxes. Cool, eh?

Guitar is a Fender Partscaster Strat w/ Mark Foley 60's Pre-CBS pickups. Amp is a Dr Z EZG-50 running into a Zilla Studio Pro 2x12 cabinet loaded with Celestion AlNiCo Gold & G12M Heritage Greenback speakers. Recorded with Aston Spirit Condenser, '70s Sennheiser MD441 and sE RNR1 ribbon mics, with a Schoeps CMC6 room mic. Spring reverb is a Dr Z Z-Verb unit.
