Renault Mégane 3 RS 250 GT Performance silencieux tube inox

As I found the stock sound rather lacking on my 2012 Renault Mégane 3 RS 250, I got a "silencieux tube inox" made by GT Performance on Ebay. It's a stainless steel tube that fits as a 1:1 replacement for the rear muffle or backbox. The French call this mod a "silencieux tube", but it's also known as a "rear muffler delete" or "back box chop". Only mods to the car are a ITG panel filter and a Stage 1 remap by Fastchip.

I did some research by watching other videos, but it's always hard to capture real life sounds digitally, but I gave it my best shot. For your convenience I used different devices as well, just to spread the options: iPhone, Panasonic GH4 with RØDE NTG-2 and GoPro 4 with the open housing and a wind jammer.

From what I've read, a mid box delete will sound similar while revving stationary, but gives less sound inside the car. My impressions so far: not exactly the best sounding four cilinder engine ever, but at least you can now (just) hear it idle. :) Someone described the Mégane's engine sound as "gruff", I guess that sounds about right. Sounds a lot sportier now, like you'd expect a car like this to be from the factory. Noise levels are very acceptable to me, but that's very personal. No drone at motorway speeds as well, just a little 'boomy' when coming of the throttle around 3000rpm.
