Easy Felt Slippers (Size 39) – A Cozy Knitting Project

If you're looking for a warm, satisfying, and simple knitting project, these felted slippers are just perfect! Made from soft wool and shaped after washing, they’re incredibly cozy and ideal for keeping your feet warm during the colder months.

What You’ll Need:

Circular knitting needle (8 mm)

Set of double-pointed needles (8 mm)

Felting wool – 4 skeins (each 50g)

Instructions (Size 39 – approx. 26.5 cm length):

Cast on 32 stitches onto your 8 mm circular needle.

Knit in stockinette stitch (knit all stitches on the right side, purl on the wrong side) for 33 rows.

Switch to your 8 mm double-pointed needles.

Cast on 2 additional stitches (now 34 in total).

Knit in the round for 22 rows.

To shape the toe, decrease by knitting together the first two stitches on each needle in every round until only 10 stitches remain in total.

Cut the yarn, thread it through the remaining stitches, pull tight, and weave in all loose ends.

Sew the back seam of the slipper.

Felting & Finishing:

Wash the slippers at 40°C (warm cycle) in the washing machine.

Add tennis balls or laundry balls to help with the felting process.

After washing, check the size. For EU size 39, the finished slipper should be about 26.5 cm long.

If the slippers are too small, gently stretch them while still damp.

If they are still too large, you can wash them a second time.

These slippers are not only incredibly warm and comfortable, but the project itself is also highly satisfying—even for beginners. With just a few materials and some basic knitting skills, you can create your own pair of handmade felt slippers in no time!
