Various Lifts around and inside the Southbank Centre, London

Most of these lifts are being modded or have already been modded. Fortunately Temple Lifts are using TVC and not boring Lester Controls.

The story with the last glass lift: I went up to it to ride it but when it came down there was people inside. I moved out of the way expecting to let them out but the doors didn't open.

The lift went back up to floor 1 and didn't open its doors there either. It came down and gave up opening the doors but didn't go out of service.

After a minute the people inside pressed the alarm which did nothing. As I have been stuck in these lifts before I called Elan Lifts who I informed of the faulty alarm and that there were people stuck inside.

The lady on the phone seemed surprised as she said the engineer left not long ago as someone else just got stuck. She then told the engineer to come back to release the trapped passengers.

Whilst I was still on the phone the doors tried one more time and they finally opened.

An hour later after we walked around the area we went back to see the engineer on site looking at the door operator and going in the hydraulic machine room.
