A lot of people have asked online how to cut a track in garageband. Usually cutting a track means the final export as in you "cut the track" to disk. In this example I believe people are asking how to cut a section in garageband.

The correct terminology for cutting a section is to "split a region" and you select edit then "split region at playhead". In this video I show you how to cut Audio, MIDI and Drummer Tracks.
