2002 powerstroke 7.3 bad injector or idm? part 1.

(Injectors seals is what i meant was leaking on no.6, coworker was distracting me.)

This Truck wouldn't make enough power to go up a 5° incline. Has contribution balance codes for 2,4, and 8, and an injector code for 8. The Truck would start up like it ran on all 8 but very shortly after misfire on multiple cylinders. Through research I was finding most people go after the idm(injector driver module). Nowhere had I read that 1 injector will shut down the entire bank to save the idm. That info was provided by a fellow mechanic and friend Jeff. We both theorized if I disconnect no.8 will it run on the rest of that bank. He asked if I would try it and these are the results. Sure enough instead of chasing the idm which is not out of the question until I've made the repair to 8 the rest of the bank stays running. Before I go down the diag for the idm I'm going to check the harness and r/r the injector. And repair the no.6 leak as well. I will not the harness to the injectors and glow plugs looks new and I do not see any obvious signs of damage to the main harness for the injectors and glowplugs. Will update with a part 2 when repairs have been made.
