Chickpeas or garbanzo beans are a rich source of vitamins, minerals, fiber and a variety of healthy nutrients. They are moderately low in calories (269 calories / 1 cup cooked beans), rich in plant proteins (14.53 g protein / 1 cup cooked beans) and in essential minerals like iron (4.74 mg), zinc (2.51 mg), copper (0.58 mg) and magnesium (79 mg). Minerals that are beneficial in preventing anemia, heart disease and colon cancer.
We share here a chickpea pie recipe that is super easy to make and tastes amazingly delicious!
For 4 servings, all it takes is dried chickpeas soaked overnight in water, eggs, some olive oil, salt, pepper and baking powder. You mix the ingredients in a blender until smooth and you bake the runny batter at 375 °F / 190 ° C for ~50 minutes or until golden brown. You will get a wonderful chickpea pie that has a smooth, silky and nutty flavor (like béchamel!). On top of that, for 1 large and filling serving, you’ll get only 350 calories gluten and guilt-free!

Ingredients:
1 cup dried chickpeas (makes ~ 2 ½ cups soaked chickpeas for a total of 756 calories)
2 eggs (80 X 2 = 160 calories)
4 tbsp. olive oil (4 X 120 = 480 calories)
4 cups room temperature water
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. black paper
1/2 tbsp. baking powder
Pinch of cumin
Pinch of chilli pepper

That makes it ~350 calories per serving of a filling, healthy and delicious chickpeas pie.

Note that, you can spice it up with whatever spices you love but traditionally this dish is spiced with some salt, cumin and chili pepper!
