Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an exclusive interview to News18 Network, predicted a clean sweep for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal and Bihar in the Lok Sabha elections.

Network18 Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi asked Modi about the 18/42 win in West Bengal in the 2019 elections, which had surprised many and BJP leader Rajnath Singh’s prediction, in a CNN-News18 exclusive interview, that the party could win 36 seats in the state. “The problem with these people, who you say were surprised, is that they — even after 10 years — are not ready to believe that citizens of this country elected someone named Modi as their prime minister. There is a section that is not willing to accept the mandate of the country. It’s a reality – the people of the country are supporting us. You thought that it wouldn’t happen. It’s your fault,” said Modi.
