I’ve done this project a number of times, but wanted to finally add some Parisian inspired molding to our bedroom. I’ve included my measurements below for those who are interested!

I install all of the outer boxes 6” from the ceiling, 6” from the baseboards, and then 4” in from any corners, other molding, etc. The look I tend to go for includes an inner box as well! For these, I always install the vertical pieces 2” in from the outer box. The small intricate pieces always measure 2” as well!

To install the moldings I always use my Rigid nail gun, but you can also use double-sided mounting tape or buy pre-cut/pre-sticky moldings sets.

Regardless of the style, moldings add so much visual interest and character to a room. Let me know if you’re planning on adding any to your home in the near future!
