Hi I’m Josh Eisen from Parking Logix and today I’m gonna discuss the benefit of parking counting and guidance in the municipal sector, and how it benefits all the different parking groups and stakeholders in which municipalities or cities have to deal with every day.

As a city manager, you’re not simply dealing with one or two different stakeholders, but you’re dealing with businesses, their customers, your employees, in addition to all the unique and first time visitors coming into your city, visiting either historical sites or other recreational areas, and so, their parking program is an important way to ensure that a safe and quality image is presented to all of these different stakeholders.

Firstly, if we look at local businesses, a parking guidance or counting platform can ensure that cars are not wasting time looking for parking, but rather getting to parking assets sooner, so that these people can be in the businesses more, to shop more, spend more money, and thus engage with your city’s assets on a greater basis.

Secondly, cities are known for having many unique visitors that are coming to park every single day.
If they’ve never been in your city before, they might not know where the best place is to park at certain times of the day, and providing a simple parking counting or guidance platform can ensure that your first time visitors aren’t your last time visitors, and that they come back time and time again because they’re not stressed about finding a space.
