Описание к видео 𝗙𝗜𝗚𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗦𝗞𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚: 𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘-𝗢𝗙𝗙 𝗘𝗫𝗘𝗥𝗖𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗦

In this video, I will demonstrate two different drills that you can use to improve your salchow take-off--one for the one foot take-off and one for the two foot-takeoff.

«One foot entry drill»
One common error of the one foot entry salchow is the free leg swinging around wide. The free leg needs to stay close to the body as the skating leg pivots to forwards on the take-off. Using the resistance band around both ankles, helps the skater develop awareness of where the free leg is in relation to the rest of the body.

«Two foot entry drill»
One common error for the two-foot take-off is not stacking over the skating leg and instead dropping the weight towards the free leg. When a skater does not stay stacked over the left side (for a skater that jumps counter clockwise), the jump will take off on a tilted axis, which also can make the jump get stuck on the follow through. For this drill, I use the wobble board to practice keeping the weight over the skating side. Even though she places the right foot down for the two-foot take-off, all of her weight stays stacked over the left side.
