WAER 223, ex IHRC 223, ex TRRA 1223 works a unit grain train at Montpelier Ohio. The number boards clearly still say 1223 so I don't know why they renumbered it. The switcher was built for the Terminal RR of St Louis in 1955, later owned by the Indiana Hi-Rail and successor Wabash Erie. I assume it is now owned by the Edon Farmers Co-Op but can't say for sure if it retains the WAER reporting mark.

The line furthest to right/north was the Wabash 1st district which ran from Toledo to Montpelier. Now it ends 4800 feet behind/east of the cameras. The line connects to the former Wabash yard in Montpelier which is now Norfolk Southern. Wabash lines radiated from Montpelier, the 4th district continued on west to Chicago, the 2nd district went south to Ft Wayne and the 3rd district went north to Detroit. Both the 2nd and 3rd are NS mainline now just refered to as the Wabash. The 4th district is operated by the Indiana Northeastern, running to South Milford Indiana. Beyond that was pulled up years ago.
