Описание к видео The Vanishing of Robin Graham: Was She a Victim of California’s Mysterious Good Samaritan Killer?

Robin Graham was an 18-year-old student who disappeared under mysterious circumstances on November 15, 1970, after her car broke down on the Hollywood Freeway in Los Angeles. Her case remains one of California’s most chilling unsolved disappearances and has been repeatedly speculated to be connected to the infamous Zodiac Killer.

At around 2:00 a.m., Robin Graham was driving southbound on the Hollywood Freeway (US-101) near Santa Monica Boulevard when her 1969 Dodge Swinger ran out of gas. CHP officers spotted her and briefly stopped to offer help. She declined assistance, saying she had already called her parents from a nearby call box. Officers left the scene, but when they returned less than an hour later, Robin was gone—and has never been seen since.

Several eyewitnesses reported seeing Robin speaking with a white male in his 20s or 30s, driving a dark-colored Corvette or Chevrolet Camaro. He was described as clean-cut and calm. Robin appeared to enter his vehicle willingly. This unidentified man remains the only known person of interest in her disappearance.

Robin was wearing a red blouse, blue jeans, and tan suede shoes at the time. Her purse was found in her locked car, along with her school books and other personal items. There were no signs of a struggle. The vehicle had run out of gas as she had stated. Her body has never been recovered.

Robin Graham’s case became one of several similar incidents in the Los Angeles area involving young women stranded on freeways and later vanishing. As a result, the California Highway Patrol changed its policy: officers were no longer allowed to leave a stranded female motorist alone at night without confirming she had a safe ride.

Over the decades, Robin’s disappearance has attracted renewed attention due to eerie similarities to other cold cases and because of speculation involving the Zodiac Killer. While Zodiac operated primarily in Northern California, theorists point out that the timing, victim profile, and predator-like tactics mirror his established MO. Zodiac had taunted authorities with letters boasting of unconfirmed victims, and some believe Robin could be among them.

However, law enforcement agencies—including LAPD and the SFPD—have found no forensic or circumstantial evidence definitively linking Robin Graham’s case to the Zodiac Killer. No suspects have ever been named. The unidentified man seen with Robin remains at large. There are also theories that a freeway predator or a serial killer operating independently in Southern California during that time may be responsible.

Robin Graham was last seen alive near the Santa Monica Boulevard off-ramp in Hollywood. Her father later stated that Robin had asked permission to take the car out that night to visit friends, and she had not appeared distressed or under duress before leaving home. Her sudden disappearance shattered her family, and her case continues to be one of the most unsettling unsolved missing person cases in California.

Key unresolved questions remain:
• Who was the man in the dark-colored vehicle?
• Did Robin willingly go with him or was she coerced?
• Could this case be tied to a string of similar disappearances?
• Is there a Zodiac connection, or was this an opportunistic local predator?

Despite renewed public interest in cold cases and advances in forensic technology, Robin Graham’s disappearance remains unsolved. Her family never received closure. Her case has been featured on several true crime forums and investigative shows but still lacks critical leads.

If you or someone you know has any information related to the disappearance of Robin Graham, you are urged to contact the LAPD’s Cold Case Division.

Robin Graham’s case highlights the dangers of late-night roadside vulnerability, the limitations of 1970s police protocol, and the haunting reality that predators sometimes blend in unnoticed. Over fifty years later, the question remains: What happened to Robin Graham?
