IG Sindh / Establishment of Model Police Stations / Review Meeting

Karachi, August 12, 2024:

A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of IG Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, regarding the establishment of model police stations in the province.

The meeting, held at the Central Police Office Karachi, was attended in person by the Karachi Police Chief, DIGs of Establishment, Security & Emergency Division, Admin Karachi, Sukkur, CIA, South, East, West, and other officers of Sindh Police. DIGs of Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, and SSP Larkana participated via video link.

During the meeting, the DIGs of various zones and divisions provided updates on the progress of establishing and constructing model police stations in their respective districts.

"One model police station is being established in each district of the province, with a total of 31 model police stations being set up," the briefing revealed.

"The government of Sindh is providing the budget for the construction and renovation of these model police stations," the briefing added.

"We are modernizing policing by establishing model police stations and implementing necessary reforms," stated IG Sindh.

"The purpose of establishing model police stations is to provide a public-friendly policing environment," said Ghulam Nabi Memon.

"In the next phase, the renovation of all police stations in Sindh will begin," announced IG Sindh.

"Polite and public-friendly staff, including female police officers, will be deployed at model police stations," IG Sindh emphasized.

"Weekly briefings on the construction of model police stations will be conducted," concluded IG Sindh.
