My First Fiber Festival - Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival

Early Saturday morning I went to my first fiber festival and I'm so glad I did. It was a wonderful adventure. People were so happy to share their knowledge about the animals. I saw people hand-spinning, I saw big bags of fleece, and there were many, many different colors and sizes of yarn to choose from.

Someday, on my land, I want goats or sheep. Historically, I always wanted goats for my own meat. Recently, I've leaned toward sheep for meat because sheep graze (and won't have to compete with the deer who browse). After speaking to some of the folks at the show, they have fiber sheep and goats for various reasons - and they generate income. It's a good thing that I still need to put up and barn and fencing before I decide. It gives me time to research and decide.
