Fragments of the ballet Sleeping Beauty on the stage of the provincial theater

Tchaikovsky's ballet "Sleeping Beauty" on the stage of a provincial theater with a stage limited in size does not create an opportunity to deploy a grandiose spectacle, nevertheless, even in modest decorations and limited human resources, it is possible to show the troupe's capabilities to solve difficult creative tasks within the allotted time. The first two actions are not dynamic, the fairies are heavy, they certainly do not flutter, but they dance diligently, they do not twist and jump somewhere, but in general they look quite nice. In the corps de ballet, technical training leaves much to be desired, there is a difference in the weight and size of the artists. Dark characters take up little action time and do not carry a significant emotional and entertainment burden. The soloists, especially the female part of the performance, do not stand out technically from the rest of the artists. The whole dynamic is transferred to the third action, where everyone is given the opportunity to show their abilities. Scenes that are not directly related to the main plot line, little red Riding hood, cats and other accompanying characters look good. The overall impression of the performance is good, the spectacle is colorful, the artists are trying their best.
