In Episode 2 of my Mongolia travel series, I travel deep into the Taiga to live with the Tsaatan reindeer herders, one of the last remaining nomadic reindeer cultures in the world.

This episode offers an intimate look at daily life with a reindeer-herding family in northern Mongolia. I explore the Taiga, learn about the customs and traditions, and experience life shaped entirely by the forest and the reindeer they depend on. During my stay, I have the rare opportunity to milk reindeer, try traditional reindeer dishes, and even ride reindeer, gaining a deeper understanding of the relationship between the Tuvan people and their animals.

Our host family welcomed us with incredible warmth and generosity, sharing their food, knowledge, and way of life while taking great care of us in a place where survival depends on community, skill, and respect for nature.
This episode is about more than travel, it’s about listening, learning, and witnessing a culture that continues to live in harmony with the Taiga despite a rapidly changing world.
