Domenico Pandolfi Mealli was an Italian composer and violinist born in Montepulciano in 1624. He adopted the name Giovanni Antonio on entering religious orders at some stage of his life. Mealli dedicated several of his musical works to members of the Habsurg nobility, however, most of his dedications were to fellow musicians. The Sonata Quarta “La Castella” was dedicated to Atonio Castelli, a court chaplain and organist.
