MANEAUX & TEE SET - Ma Belle Amie

Tee-Set was one of the few Dutch bands with an international appeal. They had hits like Don’t You Leave and She Likes Weeds, which made it all the way up to the number 1 spot in the Dutch top 40. But the group became downright immortal with Ma Belle Amie, which became a worldwide hit in 1970. The song reached the top 10 in various European countries and the top 5 on the leading American Billboard Hot 100. And let’s not forget their overwhelming chart success in Australia, Germany, Canada, France, Italy and Switzerland. In Africa it even became a number 1 hit! Worldwide, six million physical copies were sold. All this within one year.

The Rotterdam producer Jermano van Rabenswaay, also known as Maneaux, was impressed by the song, which was written by Hans van Eijck and Peter Tetteroo more than fifty years ago. He saw opportunities to bring Ma Belle Amie to a new, younger audience through a modern sound. Thanks to a modern new beat, consisting of inspiring marimbas and violins, he succeeds in forging a beautiful unity, in which the language of love combines with a hint of sunshine. This is future pop in optima forma, built on a bridge to the past.

It is the crowning glory of twelve years of hard work for Jermano (22), whose remix for Yssi SB - Seeing Paper (Remix) has reached a golden status. This record features leading names within the Dutch music industry, such as D-Double, Henkie T, Jack, Sevn Alias and Josylvio. Maneaux's versatility is endless. Raised within a family of producers and musicians, he is distinguished by his phenomenal music knowledge.
