Journalism students have access to state of the art facilities such as our dedicated media facilities like the specialised newsroom, TV and radio studios. As well as an enhanced knowledge of law, ethics and a critical awareness of how the media operates, students get the opportunity to network with key figures in the media industry through regular workshops and talks on campus. Our innovative TV and radio newsdays and newspaper production projects facilitate the creation of multi-platform content, experiencing what it feels like working to real deadlines on real stories, while building a portfolio of work. Students develop skills which are essential for a wide range of careers including those in journalism, communications and PR and also the chance to mature their viewpoint. Industry-focused lecturers and adjunct professors share their considerable experience, guiding our students as they contextualise and explore the stories which make an impact at local, national and international levels.
