OBS or Nvidia GeForce Experience for gameplay recording?

There are different benefits from recording your gameplay with either OBS, or Nvidia Geforce Experience (Shadowplay). I certainly haven't mastered either, although GeForce is much easier to understand. Then again, OBS isn't rocket surgery.
One huge benefit to using OBS is being able to add a camera (not present), and controller input. While you can also add a camera in GeForce Experience, it isn't as easy to manoeuvre to your liking. You can add a voice over to both.
Without getting into too much detail, with OBS, you can do a great deal more with your screen recording, but it will certainly be more taxing on your PC.
