This route to the summit of Fan Fawr, the highest peak in Fforest Fawr, avoids the busier direct appraoch from Storey Arms. The walk gains height gradually by following the crest of the glacial cwm. A circuit of the summit gives fine views in all directions, including the Carmarthen Fan to the west and the Tarell Valley to the north. No great exertion is required, unless you're suffering from post Covid chest infections, and there are good views across to the highest of the Brecons and down into a glacial cwm moraine.
