I Fixed Super-Charging! You won't believe how!

I've been working on fixing up an old 2013 Tesla Model S. It's been going well except that Supercharging wouldn't work. I finally figured out what the issue was and fixed it!

Nothing I could do would get Supercharging to work on the car! My only clue as to what was wrong was the CHG_f012_hwFastChargeDriver error. Searching through web forums for that seemed to indicate that the issue was with the AC charger (which controls the contactors for the DC supercharging.)

It turned out that was NOT the problem at all! It came down to the low-voltage Rapid-Mate connector on the car! The connector was NOT fully seated. Although there were no other errors or problems, but caused Supercharging to NOT work!

After jacking the car in the air, removing the plastic underbody panels, and reaching up into the small space between the battery and the car body, I was able to seat the connector. I felt it move just a small amount. That made all the difference.

If you are working on an older Model S and have to remove and reinstall the battery, make sure the spring-loaded Rapid-Mate connectors are cleaned and lubricated, especially the springs and track they ride in.
