Featuring dragons and peach blossoms, the annual Shanghai Longhua Temple Fair is taking place in Xuhui district from April 29th to May 5th. The fair is believed to date back to the Tang Dynasty and was added to the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2008.

The fair is held every year in the third lunar month and coincides with the blossoming of the peach trees on the temple grounds. According to legend, dragons visit the temple during this lunar month to grant people wishes. During the fair, a number of stalls have been set up featuring all manner of ancient crafts and artforms.
