Day 3 and 4 of the video log on medieval bell founding:
The core of the 11th century bell mould was completed on day 3 and 4 of the bell founding process. In between days 2 and 3 one week of curing time was needed to allow the core to dry to leather hard state. On day 3 more loam is added to the core to reach its maximum dimensions. Afterwards the core is shaped in the lathe with an iron tool. the surface is polished with the same tool. After that the core needs to cure for another week. By Saturday, July 7th, it should be hard enough to start modelling the wax model.
