Stefan Sagmeister looks at the world from a long-term perspective and presents visualizations that arrive at very different conclusions than you get from Twitter and TV news.

Stefan Sagmeister is Austrian and has a 40-year career in graphic design, storytelling and topography.

With his disruptive work he has helped redefine graphic design around the world, having been responsible for designing album covers for historic names in music such as Lou Reed, David Byrne and the Rolling Stones. His other entertainment clients include brands such as the Guggenheim Museum, HBO and Time Warner. He has won three Grammy Awards and almost every major design honour. He has been an official TED speaker five times, making him one of the three most frequent TED speakers.

As an author, he has sold thousands of books and his exhibitions have been shown in museums all over the world. His exhibition "The Happy Show" attracted more than half a million visitors worldwide and became the most visited graphic design exhibition in history.
