Do I need a booster for my large Marklin Digital Layout?

Описание к видео Do I need a booster for my large Marklin Digital Layout?

Large layouts do not always need boosters.

The need for a booster is more dependent on the amount of power consumers on your layout, versus the output capacity of your controller.

Some of your power consumers are:
-Moving locomotives (big drain)
-Standing (parked) locomotives
-Cars with interior lights
-Turnout lights and bumper lights connected to track power.

We show the need for several power feeds on your large layout.

We show how to divide your layout into "power consumption areas".

This example shows the use of a Central Station CS3 (60226), but the application is identical using the CS3+ (60216), and also applies to older Control Stations.

Even though this video is using Marklin and Marklin 3-rail, the general rules apply to all layouts. Regular DCC layouts can suffer of a higher power loss along the track connections than the double connector system of Marklin C-track, and the use of extra feeder wires will be very useful.
